Planning has begun for the 2009 Green Home Tour. The event will be a little different this year. Instead of a seminar the day of the Green Home Tour, we will hold a series of classes through the YMCA at Virginia Tech beginning in January 2009 for the months leading up to the event. Participation in one or more classes will discount admission to the Green Home Tour. More information about the classes will be posted here as it becomes available.
The Green Home Tour will be April 25, 2009 with houses open all day instead of just in the afternoon. Do you have a house or know of a house that is a candidate for the Green Home Tour? I think it is great that you are doing a tour of a green home!
Many individuals think they have to sacrifice quality in order to go green, but they really don't. Designing a green home plan isn't very hard and you probably wouldn't even know a home was green unless someone told you.
I think the tour will be an excellent opportunity to educate people, letting them see exactly was "living green" is all about.
